Ada* is 12 years old and lives with her grandmother in Beeskop Community, South Africa. When Ada’s mother left her three children behind, their grandmother took them in, and while she cares for them as best as she can, it is difficult to feed all of the children.
In 2019, the local Care Workers in Beeskop found the family and stepped in to help. Motivated by their love for God and their neighbours, they invited Ada and her siblings to the local Care Point, where they receive a nutritious meal, relieving the pressure on their grandmother. Praise God. Pray for Ada and the children who she represents across Africa, to experience the hope of Christ through the positive example of the Care Workers.

When Susan* was three years old, she was left in the care of her neighbours, who she came to view as her grandparents. They lovingly cared for Susan like she was their own. Sadly, Susan’s grandmother passed away, but her grandfather has remained committed to her care. Now 18, Susan gave birth earlier this year to her first-born daughter. Her grandfather is grateful to all the female role models Susan has in the Care Workers, who can help her learn how to care for her baby well. The Care Workers are committed to supporting Susan. They don’t want her to stop coming to the Care Point or give up on her future now she has to care for her baby. Care Worker Joster makes sure she understands that she is very welcome at the Care Point and can come to them with any struggles she has. - Beeskop Community, South Africa

“After the loss of my husband, I felt alone and that my life was over, yet I had kids to look after. When Thembi, who was a Care Worker came regularly to spend time with me, she encouraged me that Christ is with me in my pain and she encouraged me to find myself in Him. When I first came to the Care Point as a Care Worker, I felt like it was my calling. I had an inner peace and even though I was a new Care Worker, I could see God living in the children and the families which we visited. I love cooking for the children and welcoming them to the Care Point each day. The opportunity to hear about their day brings me great joy that I get to share with my own children at home as an encouragement.”
