Regularly, we're going to be introducing one of our Care Workers from across Africa. Today we want you to meet Emmanuel.
Emmanuel lives in Miswa Community in Zambia with his wife and 12 children. He has lived in Miswa for 34 years.
He became a Care Worker in 2007 after being healed from a long-lasting illness. He started to see the suffering of the children in his community and believed that God was calling him to care. He shares that the “best part of being a Care Worker is playing with the children at the Care Point.”
International Volunteer Emma Baxter shares, “Emmanuel is always full of the joy of the Lord. He comes to the Care Point almost every day. He loves to dance and sing and leads us all to worship the Lord.”

At the opening ceremony for the new Life Centre in Miswa, 12-year-old Elida was chosen to speak on behalf of the children. She expressed her gratitude for Yvonne and her fellow Care Workers and for the love and support they show to the children.

The Kabwe region in Zambia has been hit hard with drought over a number of years. The newly constructed borehole in Miswa community provides Care Workers with hope that their crop will have a sufficient water source to be plentiful this year. A good harvest means they can both support their families this season and put some aside for the coming year.

In this season in Zambia, when the rains haven’t yet started, people are desperately struggling to survive and make it through, particularly in the communities of Miswa, Baraka and Susu. Pray for the most vulnerable families, that God will provide for them and see them through to the harvest in early 2021.

Miswa Community, Zambia. Since 10-yr-old Susan* has been attending the Care Point, she has received a new blanket+mosquito net, ensuring she has a good night’s sleep+remains healthy. Since receiving this mosquito net, Susan has no longer suffered with malaria. Praise God!

Miswa Community, Zambia. Five-year-old Mweeba* and his two older brothers, Macrina* and Tresphord* live with their grandmother, however, she struggles to effectively provide for her grandchildren. Acting with grace and compassion, the volunteer Care Workers brought Mweeba and his siblings to the Care Point.

Miswa Community, Zambia: When 17-year-old Rivan* was 11 years old his father died. After several years of grieving and struggling to survive, support came in the form of volunteer Care Worker, Emmanuel, who invited Rivan to the Care Point where his needs could be met.
