Another year has come and gone and, though a difficult year for many reasons, God remains faithful. A big challenge we faced was the drought that struck sub-Saharan Africa. The most vulnerable - the communities and families we work with - were hardest hit. We needed to act fast, otherwise many of our families wouldn’t survive. Churches across the globe responded and we were able to ensure food security, access to water, and other life-preserving necessities.
We continue to rejoice in the way lives are being transformed, both in Africa and in Canada. Our children and caregivers are creating transformative relationships with each other and with members of the local church; we sent more teams in 2016 than we ever have; many Canadians are committing their lives to being a voice for the voiceless; and the work in Africa is beginning to impact churches in Canada to respond to the cry of the vulnerable in their own communities. We invite you to read through this newsletter to get a snapshot of this very full year.
As we look to 2017, we continue to chase the Kingdom and the dream. This dream is to see centres of life grow in our communities, safe places where children and caregivers come together daily with Care Workers, where joy is experienced and restoration takes place. Thank you for continuing to chase this dream with us. We are blessed to be together in this work.
