40 Days of Prayer

40 Days of Prayer - Day 3

Day 3 – Children Yet to Be Identified

‘Then the people brought their little children to Jesus so he could put his hands on them and pray for them. His followers told them to stop, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like these children.’ – Matthew 19:13-14

Across Africa there are thousands of vulnerable children not yet cared for. Pray for these children, who on a regular basis are exposed variously to hunger, abuse, war, injustice, persecution and corruption. Pray that they will experience God’s peace, comfort and healing in their brokenness and that God will provide for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

40 Days of Prayer - Day 2

Day 2 - Children across Africa

‘Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.’ – Psalm 127:3-5

Praise God for 7500 of the most vulnerable children, including Safta, that Hands at Work is serving across eight different countries in Africa. Pray for each child to know the unconditional love of their Heavenly Father through the love that they receive from their local Care Workers. Ask God to fill each child with a sense of belonging and hope for their future.

40 Days of Prayer - Easter Sunday

Day 40 - EASTER SUNDAY

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! – Revelations 22:20

He Is Risen

Arising from the dead, Jesus has shown us that there is no wound too deep, no scar too unbearable that He cannot heal. As we await His triumphant return, He is still ‘binding up the broken-hearted, proclaiming freedom for the captives and releasing from darkness the prisoners’.

Thank you for praying with us!

40 Days of Prayer - Holy Saturday

HOLY SATURDAY

Today, we pause to anticipate the coming of Easter Sunday and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. - Isaiah 53:5-6

40 Days of Prayer - Day 39

Day 39 – Crucifixion

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

The Crucifixion is the most scandalous event in history. This is how the world meant to put a stop to Jesus and all that He was about. He came to proclaim good news to the poor, set the captives free, to bring sight to the blind, give liberty to the oppressed. Thank Jesus for His sacrifice and for showing us an excellent way. Pray that Nonchle and other vulnerable children, Care Workers, Primary Caregivers across Africa, churches and volunteers with Hands at Work in Africa and the world, would feel the weight of what it means for Jesus to die for us. Pray that God would compel us to lay down our lives as living sacrifices. Let us begin our prayer with a few moments of silence.
