Praying for the Discipleship and Skills programme in Chisamba Community, Zambia

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. - Isaiah 43:1

At the end of our first week of the Discipleship and Skills programme in Chisamba Community, Zambia, the boys have begun to build relationships with each other and learn about Jesus.

Please pray for:

Unity, confidentiality and a spirit of openness amongst the boys as they share their stories and lives.

Physical protection and the safety of everyone involved over the next few weeks. Please also pray for spiritual protection over the boys during this time.

The boys’ relationship with Jesus to become personal. Pray for their character, that they will learn what it means to be Godly men and to bring transformation to their communities, and to develop life skills for the future.

Praying for the local Hands at Work team in Kabwe

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. - James 1:5

Today we invite you to join us in praying for the local Hands at Work team in Kabwe, Zambia, who serve 860 of the most vulnerable children.

Within the communities that the Kabwe team serves are a number of children facing challenging circumstances, each requiring different responses. Please pray for the Kabwe team as it follows up each situation, that God will give wisdom, discernment and a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit to know how to respond. Pray for each child to receive the care that they desperately need.

Hands at Work is committed to building into the lives of our youth through intentional times of connection, by teaching them skills and speaking the truth of the gospel and how it can impact their lives.  Please pray for the upcoming construction of the Chisamba Life Centre, as the youth will be involved in this. Pray that the time the Care Workers and Kabwe team will be spending with the youth will be fruitful and will bring spiritual and emotional support and encouragement. Pray for a spirit of unity as they work together. This is the first project in which the youth will be involved, and could have the potential to be replicated in other communities across Africa.

In this season in Zambia, when the rains haven’t yet started, people are desperately struggling to survive and make it through, particularly in the communities of Miswa, Baraka and Susu. Pray for the most vulnerable families, that God will provide for them and see them through to the harvest in early 2021.

Pray for the Kabwe team to continue to grow in its daily rhythms and, as they run towards problems, ask God to give each member of the team wisdom and discernment.

Praying for the Democratic Republic of Congo

It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. – Deuteronomy 13:4

Today we invite you to join us in praying for the local Hands at Work team in Likasi, as it serves 750 of the most vulnerable children across five communities.

For a long time, Erick and Angel, the coordinators of the Likasi team, have desired to grow their team of people committed to serving the most vulnerable. They are currently walking with and investing into two individuals, discerning who will be the right fit for the team. Ask God to give Erick and Angel wisdom and discernment in this process, and that He will bring the right people to their team, people who have hearts of grace and compassion and a desire to serve the most vulnerable.

Praise God for the land that we received in Buhimba Community, which will serve as the Care Point for the children. Pray for a smooth process as we seek to formally secure the land. Pray for the Care Point to be a place of safety, where the love of Jesus is experienced.

Recently, there have been a few challenges in Toyota Community and there is a desperate need to mobilise new Care Workers. Pray for the Likasi team to have wisdom and discernment as it addresses the challenges and pray that God will speak into the hearts of potential Care Workers who have the desire to serve.

Praying for Zimbabwe

Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. - Philippians 2:2

Today we ask you to lift Zimbabwe up in prayer as it faces many challenges in this current season.

We encourage you to educate yourselves using credible local news sources, in order to understand the struggles that the Zimbabwean people are facing.

Praying for Mozambique

‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.’ - 1 John 5:14-15

Today, we invite you to join us in praying for the local Hands at Work team in Chimoio, Mozambique, who long to see a spiritual breakthrough in each of the communities and in the families that they serve.  Yet they recognise that a breakthrough and revival must happen in their own lives before they can bring the same to the darkest and most desperate communities. Ask God to bring revival into each of their lives, that He will use them to bring the truth and hope of the gospel into the lives of the most vulnerable children and their families.

40 Days of Prayer - Easter Sunday

Day 40 - EASTER SUNDAY

‘He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!’ – Revelations 22:20

He Is Risen!

When Jesus arose from the dead, He showed us that there is no wound too deep, no scar too unbearable that He cannot heal. As we await His triumphant and glorious return, challenge yourself to give your heart completely to God. Ask our Father to show you what it means to fight for justice and act in faith on behalf of the most vulnerable. In times where it seems hopeless, remember that Jesus is able, as He continues to ‘bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners’.
