40 Days of Prayer - Day 3

If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it, but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. – 1 Corinthians 13:3 (NLT)

Vulnerability is seen in Africa and around the world in the sick, orphaned, widowed and dying. From the very young to the very old, people are living in fear, without safety or access to medical care. With their lives constantly in peril, pray the church will lead the way and become an example of love and care for these who are so close to God’s heart. Pray the church will not be a voice of judgement, but an example of love to all who live in distress.

Royie + Violet

Royie and Violet, Hands at Work local leaders in Malawi, live out their calling to love and care for the most vulnerable children, mobilising the local church to come alongside them.

"In [Royie and Violet's] poverty stricken community, mobilising the local church to sacrifice their own meagre resources to care for others was a challenge. Despite the challenges, Royie and Violet knew God had called them to sacrifice their lives for the vulnerable children of Mngwere. Royie and Violet’s hearts were broken, and together with their church, they began to provide one daily meal of porridge so the children could go to school."
