HOLY SATURDAY
‘For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.’ – Psalm 22:24
Holy Saturday allows us to empathise with those who have no hope. On this day, when Jesus’ disciples were caught between the hopelessness of Good Friday and the hope that came on Easter Sunday, let us choose to enter in compassion – to ‘suffer with’ our brothers and sisters – who today feel that sense of despair and confusion.
