‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. - Revelation 21:4
Belvie* caught the eye of the Care Workers and support team in Goma, not because her physical appearance was uncommon, but because of the rigid look of pain in her eyes. Standing on the outskirts of the Care Point in Buhimba, she watched other children engaged and embraced in care and eating nutritious food. When the local Care Workers were actively discerning which additional children they could be caring for, Belvie’s obvious desperation caught their attention and gripped their hearts. On that day, they walked Belvie home to a mother dying of cancer with no medical treatment available. They learned that Belvie is one of six children in the household in desperate need of many physical aspects of care, and also of nurturing and healing. The local support team in Goma gave this report of her progress after she was added to the program: “The photo is from the first day the Care Workers met her, but to see her laughing after only a couple weeks, that itself is a miracle.”
Thank God for the work that He is doing in the lives of the most vulnerable children across Africa like Belvie. Pray that each child will come to know God's love and will experience His healing and restoration.
